Perhaps the most well known park for the classic western landscape. Monument Park is a Navajo Nation tribal park. The sandstone buttes that reside here are among the most photograpghed in the world. You are in the Navajo Nation and with that said show respect for this sacred place and those who make their homes here. The town of Goulding is near by and a trading post there offers a wide selection of Indian jewelry. I stopped at Mexican Hat just a few miles up the road and found that stop very worth while. On my last visit I took an Indian tour guide with me deep into the park, it was both visually and spiritually worth the time and expense to have a sunset tour.
